The first daffodils are finally poking their beautiful yellow heads above the earth, the sky is turning a more vibrant shade of blue and the birds are finally tweeting again. It can only mean one thing .. Spring is well and truly on its way.
Whether you're looking to revamp your entire house, selectively add some pops of soft furnishing colour or splash a little paint on tired looking garden furniture, pastels are winning out this spring.
Farrow and Balls prettiest and most delicate shade of pink is named after the discerning colourist, Catherine Middleton. Middleton Pink offers a wonderfully light pastel tone, it's fresh and uncomplicated, especially when contrasted with All White for a whimsical, playtime feel.
As the weather gets better, we begin to turn our attention to the garden. A fantastic way to brighten tired old wooden furniture is to add a pop of colour. Why not choose a soft green or blue such as Sandtex Gentle Blue. This adds subtle pastels to garden sheds, benches and gates.
If you'd prefer not to go for anything as bold as a change of paint colour, adding smaller pops of pastel in the form of throws and cushions can dramatically change any living space.
